Stephen Sondheim Theatre
Overview
Formerly Henry Miller's Theatre, the Sondheim was demolished and rebuilt underground at the base of the Bank of America Tower in 2009 — making it, along with Circle in the Square, one of only two Broadway houses built below street level. It's a modern, LEED-certified space (the first green Broadway theater) with a clean, contemporary Orchestra-and-Mezzanine layout. Renamed in 2010 to honor Stephen Sondheim on his 80th birthday, it's operated by the Roundabout Theatre Company and generally hosts musicals.
