Overview

Once the premier vaudeville house in America — the theater every vaudevillian dreamed of playing — the Palace was raised 29 feet in a major 1990s renovation to sit above a new retail and hotel base, then underwent an extensive 2018–2024 restoration. It's a large, three-level musical house with ornate plasterwork, side boxes, and two balcony levels, positioned right in the heart of Times Square.

History

Opened in 1913 as a vaudeville palace — for decades, headlining the Palace was considered the pinnacle of a vaudeville career. It became a movie house in 1932, then a legitimate Broadway musical theater in 1966 under the Nederlander Organization, which still operates it today.
