Overview

Designed as an architectural twin to the neighboring Plymouth (now Gerald Schoenfeld) Theatre, the Broadhurst is a steadily-booked mid-to-large Shubert house with a clean, Greek-inspired interior and no obstructed views anywhere in the auditorium. It comfortably handles both plays and musicals, and has hosted a long, consistent run of major productions across more than a century.

  • CATS: The Jellicle Ball (current, immersive reimagining)
  • Jagged Little Pill
  • Les Misérables (2006 limited revival run)
  • Fosse; Kiss of the Spider Woman; Cabaret
  • Anastasia; Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (2008 revival)

History

Opened in 1917 by playwright George H. Broadhurst in partnership with the Shubert brothers, and designed by Herbert J. Krapp with Greek-inspired detailing. Both its facade and auditorium interior are NYC landmarks, and it has rarely gone dark in over a century of operation.
