Midnight

Synopsis

Set in the American South, Midnight follows twelve interconnected lives—six Black and six white characters—whose stories unfold through an exhilarating score that blends gospel, pop, R&B, rock, folk, opera, and contemporary musical theatre. As love, loss, prejudice, and hope collide, the boundaries that separate them begin to disappear, revealing a timeless truth: while we don’t choose the roles we’re born into, we do choose who we become.

Filled with unforgettable music and breathtaking theatrical storytelling, Midnight invites audiences to imagine what life would look like if they had been cast in someone else’s role.

From acclaimed creator Todrick Hall comes an original new musical unlike anything on stage today.

At its heart, Midnight asks one unforgettable question:
What if the life you inherited had belonged to someone else?

By turning that question into an epic theatrical journey, Midnight explores empathy, identity, love, and redemption through a thrilling score that spans gospel, pop, R&B, rock, folk, opera, and contemporary musical theatre.

Powerful, emotional, and deeply relevant, Midnight is more than a night at the theatre— it's an invitation to see humanity through someone else's eyes.

We don't get to choose the roles we play, we just get to choose how we play them.
